Favorites are a convenient way to organize and gain access to Web sites that you visit frequently. In other browser programs, such as Netscape Navigator, you might know favorite items as bookmarks.
If you install Internet Explorer on the same computer you've been using Netscape Navigator, Internet Explorer automatically imports your Netscape bookmarks. In Internet Explorer, they appear on the Favorites menu in the Imported Bookmarks folder.
You can import and export favorites and bookmarks so that they are available through any other programs or computers you use to view Web pages:
If you use both Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator, you can keep Internet Explorer favorite items up-to-date by importing bookmarks you added to Navigator after you installed Internet Explorer:
If you want to use your favorite items with other programs, or on another computer, you can export the items as an .htm file. You can export either your entire Favorites list or a selected folder. Then you can add your favorites to any program that stores favorites or bookmarks, or view your Favorites list as a Web page of links.
The exported favorites .htm file is fairly small, so you can copy it to a floppy disk or attach it to e-mail if you want to share the favorite items with other people:
